I finally had a king cake shipped out after visiting in January. As a fairly experienced baker and pastry chef, I was always very hesitant that a mail delivery product could compete with fresh baked king cakes I make each year. A friend has often ordered from another famous bakery and I was always disappointed in the quality.

The first thing that caught my attention with this one is the mouth-watering smell that immediately hit me m as soon as the box opened. Despite traveling from Louisiana to rural California, I had it in my kitchen less than 14 hrs after it left the bakery. The sweet, fluffy dough is a somewhere between best of a sweet, brioche meets croissant with the slightest hint of possibly nutmeg and cardamom. We chose the cream cheese filling which was delicious. We really want to try apple and lemon next! My personal belief is that frosting and sugar are only to hide poorly made baked goods when working with pastry dough. This item 100% stands on its own. The dough is definitely one of my favorites. That being said, the frosting fans in my house felt it was the perfect sweetness to highlight the flavors in the dough. I will be ordering from here again for sure. Thanks for sending Carnival to the middle of nowhere! I will remember you in the future!

Awful waste of money and disappointment. My husband stopped by there after work Friday the 10th 2023. We had guest coming for dinner.

The pastries he purchased Fruit Tarts, CreamPuff, Eclair, and French King Cake were not fresh at all. You could hammer a nail with the King Cake. They were very stale, with the cream hard and cracked. The whole lot was inedible and we were afraid to eat it due to cream causing food poisoning. Fruit tart had mold on it. It was very disappointing and costly to us because of the amount we purchased. Nothing was fresh and could be eaten certainly not to guest.

I had a coworker who said this place makes the best king cake. Obviously that's out of season...but I came here as it's on my to go list and I was in the area for an exam.

I was not let down everything here was delicious prob the best pastries I've ever had. The cheesecake praline or whatever blew my mind prob better than Misakis fried cheesecake and half the price!!

The swan was also crazy good and elegant looking almost a shame to eat it... especially with the creme hidden inside

Now the vanilla eclair was okay....I wanted something basic as a control....just in case

For ppl interested in king cakes I asked about these. They said u can get them anytime by custom order or wait

This is my favorite bakery in the area. The baked goods have so much flavor and are not overly sweet. Their chocolate truffle cake is rich and fantastic, but you really can’t go wrong.

Interesting and soo good.
The location is not conducive to hanging out, so it's more of a takeout place. The pastries and other sweets are the draw, with good variety.
Well received with the community, judging by the volume of customers and Gugelhupf on the shelves.
We tried the lemon tarte and raspberry almond tarte, both excellent.
Espresso would have been nice.

The chocolate petit four was easily the most delicious cake I’ve ever had! The cake was so moist, not too sweet and the chocolate was just amazing. Great customer service as well!

Ordered a king cake with strawberry and cream cheese filling, and almost half of the cake has little to no filling whatsoever. They also put a heavy bag containing icing, sprinkles, etc directly on the cake when packaging it for shipping, so the cake arrived with a large portion of it flattened.

Giving 2 stars because the cake tasted pretty good, but ultimately we paid for strawberry and cream cheese filling and it’s just unacceptable and almost unbelievable that whoever made this didn’t realize that they were missing about 45% of the cake with filling. I don’t expect things to be perfect but someone was really not paying attention when they made and packaged this.

Stopped by after Mardi gras and took a look around. We purchased a slice of the strawberry King cake. It was very good despite it being a day old. We also purchased chocolate doberge cake that was very good. We also picked up a lemon tart pie as well as a chocolate delight cake. Everything we tried was very good. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
