9/20/24: Just to know, this store is PRE-ORDER ONLY for Fri, Sat, and Sun! Either through Instagram(mostly) or by phone. I don't think you can just walk in and get something.
Ordered a cheesecake, various croissants(raspberry, zahar, plain), some cruffins(its a cinnamon-like pastry), and a slice of coffee cake. All of them were pretty good. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The bread-based pastries were not overly sweet like some other places I've been to(I like bread to taste like bread), and this was a great job at that. The raspberry was a little light on the raspberry inside than I'd like(because the raspberry was good and I wanted more =0b), but it was still pretty good.
Now the cheesecake was also pretty good. However, I believe it wasn't fully set in the center. Unfortunately, I stopped by my mother's before going home and she was serving it to us, so I didn't see this immediately until it was mostly gone. She mentioned the center collapsing, but I thought it was just because she has a dull knife or something. You can see how that spilled out on the right side on one of the images. The edges have a typical cheesecake texture, while the center(not really the CENTER-center, but still) looks more liquid-y. Now normally I'd subtract a star, but because of the fairly short conversation I had with the main baker, I feel this isn't indicative of the bakery's quality, so I won't. And the non-center parts of the cheesecake were really good; a very well-balanced cheesecake flavor that isn't too heavy or sweet with a delicious compote on top. I'd definitely would order another, just would make sure that the next one is fully baked all the way through =03.

This pastry shop is a hidden gem with the absolute best and most delicious cheesecake you can find around. Also, the croissants are so fluffy and scrumptious. The zaatar croissants and Nutella croissants are out of this world. The dessert parfaits are also a solid choice to satisfy your sweet tooth. Ask for their specialty cookies too! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. I wish everyone could try their sweets since the quality ingredients used and the expert skills used to make these pastries are amazing. The main chef is highly educated and talented. Their staff is the best. I hope they go national!

I was told to check this place out. To my surprise, it was right in my neighborhood. So I went in and picked a variety of Croissants out. ( cheese, zaatar, chocolate, and everything bagel?) Each one was better than the next! I can't wait to try the other baked goods!
Edit: Just had a cheesecake for Easter. It was fantastic. Not too sweet, it had a perfect creaminess to it. And the crust was so flavorful. Definitely the only place I'll get a cheesecake from going forward.

First off, I am writing this review based off the fact I've had actual french pastries in Europe while I lived there, as well as here in the states by famous french pastry chefs in California, New York, Chicago, and Miami. Now finally Detroit has an ACTUAL french pastry bakery!!
I've been wanting to try Le Belal Pastry since he opened up back in November. Finally had the pleasure of doing so yesterday and I was blown away! First off Belal, the one in the background in the blue chef's jacket, is an Absolutely phenomenal down to earth humble human being and better yet an even better pastry chef! Chef Belal was taught by some of the best culinary pastry chefs in New York before coming back to him home town and opening up Le Belal Pastry.
I ordered an array of items, tried almost every Croissant, creme puffs, cheesecake, cinnamon roll, and his double roasted Lavazza coffee. Definitely need to get the coffee to pair it well with the following goodies. Everything he presents is all hand made by himself and derived from quality ingredients, some of which were imported from France such as the butter and other main ingredients he uses. I wish I could pick 1 thing that was my favorite but to be frank everything tasted phenomenal and looked absolutely divine! The raspberry filling in the raspberry croissant was unlike any other, perfect amount of sweetness and taste. The cheese croissant is amazing in the morning, especially when you heat it up for 10 seconds and have the cheese all melty and gooey. The cinnamon roll croissant has the perfect amount of butter and cinnamon that melted in your mouth. The plain croissant has a sweet buttery flavor on the side which made me wish I had bought more. The nutella pastry (forgot the name) absolutely amazing, not like your typical nutella pastry. The creme puffs, a must try! Vanilla and Nutella custard. The nutella isnt simply stuffed with nutella, no, Belal makes the hazelnut chocolate custard by hand and it will have you crying for more. Last but not least, the Beautiful Beautiful cheesecake!!! I'm very picky with my cheesecakes and tend to not enjoy bakery or restaurant cheesecakes. My sister is a baker, so I've only been impressed by her cheesecake. I thought I'd give Belal's a try and I am glad I did!! Cheesecake was absolutely divine, it was whipped just right, flavor on point, wasnt too light nor too heavy. Just right. The mixed berries gave it the perfect touch, and the cream on the side I could eat that with a spoon allll day!!! He makes it by hand as well, not cream from a can you buy off the shelf.
Also, I was expecting the total to tally up to roughly $65+, however everything came out to $32 which was unbelievable. I was in disbelief! I've had pastries from local shops that charged up to $12 for 1 item, and having spent upwards to $65 for 5 items in other places. I love my pastries and I'm always willing to pay, because sometimes the high price is worth it. I've paid over $16 for 1 croissant in California Pastry shops. Le Belal pricing is extremely low, especially for the quality and ingredients he uses. If anyone tells you it's expensive, they clearly dont know market value on pastries and how much hard work, time, and dedication it takes to make these pieces of art.
I highly highly recommend visiting Le Belal Pastry, and I'm glad I got the pleasure of trying these works of art by such a skilled and mastered chef!! I definitely will be back on a weekly basis even though I live roughly 45mins away in Troy. I'm thankful Michigan finally has a phenomenally skilled chef/baker to open up a pastry shop.

Today was my first time visiting this shop. I had heard of them from my sister and decided to give them a try. Upon arriving the shop is located within a small plaza west of telegraph off Warren rd. I was greeted by Bilal who took my order and helped me out. Since it was my first time I needed a little help so Bilal without hesitation went over ever item with a smile. Their service and kindness is next level here. Ended up with a pumpkin muffin, two parfaits and a zatar twist plus a bonus biscoff compliments on the house. Checkout was very quick and easy. Keep in mind their shop is pretty small and there's no dining. Just a grab and go style here. Once I got home the fun began. Went for the parfaits first and my goodness very addicting, light, fluffy and full of flavor to satisfy your sweet tooth. Saved the rest for the following day at breakfast time. In summary, if you're looking for a delicious quick grab n go this is the spot with fantastic service and hospitality..highly recommended. Thanks to Bilal for making my experience soo great and the bonus item to sweeten things up. Looking forward to trying out other items on the menu.
**Another important note: this shop is known for their pastries and croissants. But due to very high demand oder online or come in during opening at 9am.
**Second important note: they're open only Friday-Sunday!

Absolutely the best fresh, buttery, flakey croissants and pastries, delicious cheesecake and crème brûlée, everything is good. The price is more than fair for the excellent quality. Also Chef Belal is warm and gracious. Highly recommended.

I was in the mood for a croissant, so I did a Google search. This location will not disappoint you. When you walk in the door you can smell the goodness baking. This place is amazing! The staff is friendly. The chef gave me a sample that was delicious. The cream cheese danish with apricot drizzle I purchased was buttery rich and flaky, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. Go here you won’t regret it!!
Cinnamon Cruffin Delicious!!!!
