On pourrait penser que ce salon de thé sur Saint Charles pourrait être trop cher ou industriel mais les prix sont corrects et les pâtisseries ou les plats sucrés sont faits maison et plutôt bons! Une bonne adresse....

After a hot walk in the garden district, this place was heaven! AC pumping, super friendly staff and delicious, flaky pastries. I have had morning buns all over the world and this was truly perfect! The coffee was great and we would happily go back again if we were close by!

I really wanted to like Gracious Bakery. I pass it all the time on the streetcar and from the outside it looks really inviting. The food is good and the atmosphere is not bad. Unfortunately the service is nonexistent. The two staff members mostly stay hidden, which is likely best. If they have received any training it is not apparent. No greeting of clients or any acknowledgment they are present. I never heard a thank you to any client in the time I was there. Not a very gracious bakery.

The vibe and branding are nice. However, their menu is overpriced. They have small portion sizes and bland tasting food.
I paid $18 for a ham sandwich and ice coffee. I thought the sandwich was going to be a rich French style sandwich.
The sandwich had no flavor, no butter, was cold, dry, and the bread was stale toast bread. The coffee had a strong burnt flavor.
The lady assembling the food kept yelling out people’s names. It’s a small space and her voice carries. There were less than a dozen people and only a few feet away from her. Why not just drop it off on their table? ?
The restaurant is overrated in these online reviews.

I visited here for my first AND LAST time. The main cashier was friendly and doing her job. The one making the coffee, not so much. I had an almond croissant which was a solid 7.5/10 and a med roast coffee which was disgusting. Bitter, scorched and definitely not fresh. My child got a honeybun which is give a generous 4.5/10 and a petit four which I didn't try. I love a good bakery and cafe and love to find decent local places to frequent. This is one I will not be adding to my list.

The coffee was pretty good for Joe - which is what I mostly drink, so that's not at all meant as a criticism. The laminated pastries were light and flaky, as they should be. My bagel and filling was served almost dangerously hot (again, that's not a criticism) and, when cool enough to eat, was delicious: The bagel had a good amount of chew.
The place is a bit of a warehouse, but cool and shady on a hot day and I could talk to my wife without shouting, which is always nice.
I don't think any baking is done on site, and despite pictures of artisan breads and baguettes on the walls there was no evidence of any to buy - they sell snack breads, scones, cookies and pastries together with a wide selection of drinks, for consumption on or off the premises.
I would certainly come back if I'm in the area.

If you’re catching the trolley out to the garden district get off at sixth and go straight to Gracious Bakery. Standouts are the peaches and cream turnover, the blueberry muffin and the morning bun. The staff are lovely and it’s a gem.

We popped in last week for a quick breakfast. I had a chocolate raspberry no flower muffin. It was dense and decadent. Someone had to eat it, so I did. I enjoyed it. The son had a cinnamon roll and liked it. The lady had an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich. It was yummy too. Nice place.
