Absolutely wonderful working with Sandrine for dessert cups for my wedding. I had a last minute emergency before the wedding and she came to the rescue, allowing me to see my vision come true. Her desserts were extra tasty and I loved how she let me customize options and offered great seasonal varieties. Would recommend!

The croissants and pastries are so delicious and her various flavors of macarons are the best I’ve had! Sandrine is incredibly talented and knowledgeable. Not just with French but also Italian cuisine. I attended an Italian food and wine pairing event at Cedar Ridge and it was great. On Sundays I love when I pick up croissants fresh out of the oven, I also love that she can cater for events! My family and I love supporting her business.

Submitted a form online to Sandrine asking if she could make a Black Forrest cake for my birthday that was 2 days away. Not only was she able to on a tight timeline with a Sunday pickup, but within 15 minutes of submitting my online form we had communicated when to pick it up, where to pickup, and payment options. Pickup was a breeze as was payment. The cake, utterly delicious! Will 100% order from Sandrine again and cannot wait to try more of her goodies.

First I must disclose that Sandrine is my sister-in-law. Yesterday I arrived from Tucson, AZ. When I walked in her home I was instantly overwhelmed with the incredibly sweet smell of Sandrine baking macarons. It brought me back to my childhood and smelling my mom baking chocolate chip cookies. Oh, that scent just permeated my senses and put me in my old happy place.
This morning I woke up to the smell of Sandrine baking my wife and I fresh croissants (chocolate,
blueberry, and strawberry). Oh my goodness! Straight out of the oven, almost too hot to eat, I devoured three croissants. The experience was as good as I had envisioned - actually far better.
To eat croissants while drinking coffee with Sandrine, I was enlightened about where her passion for baking came from. Sandrine, as a young girl in France, learned from her mother how to shop in fresh produce markets and create food from scratch.
Her attention to detail is uncompromising. I watched her hand torch crème brûlée macarons and each one came out perfect.
Although my voice is biased, if you want handmade French pastries of the highest quality, Sandrine would be my choice.

I ordered a surprise box from Sandrine and I could not be more pleased with this purchase! A huge amount and variety of absolutely delicious products. The crème brute, Nutella croissants, and almond tarts have been my favorite so far and I cannot wait to try the rest. Will absolutely be going back to Sandrine for my next celebration!!

My niece and I attended a “Mommy & Me” class and also ordered a custom 40th birthday cake and loved both! Sandrine was very responsive and a patient teacher. My niece was enamored with her and her baking experience and the cake was beautiful and delicious.

Hidden gem of Cedar Rapids!

Food: We ordered the following for a family birthday:

>Trianon cake - Heavenly! If you are looking for a cake for someone who is a fan of chocolate silk pie, this is it. The main layer inside is the creamiest chocolate - it looks light in colour, but tastes like dark chocolate. Not at all bitter, but not too sweet. (I am supposed to avoid gluten, but I tried the top part of this cake. 100% worth it!)

> Sucre-sale salad - Light and tasty! Spinach, avocado, strawberry, and pecans with a tangy vinaigrette. (Site description says balsamic vinaigrette, but this was a regular vinaigrette.) Unlike most salads of this style, it was not too sweet!

> Pommes aligot - Scrumptious! "Mashed potatoes with cheese" doesn't do it justice! This dish is given to you in a pint glass jar and can be kept refrigerated until you use it. Then you heat it up in a nonstick pan, stirring constantly, until it is stringy and runny. We served it with bread and vegetables - loved it!

Service: Sandrine is lovely! She was kind, knowledgeable, helpful, responded quickly to questions and orders, and had items ready for pick-up on time.

We will definitely order from Sandrine again and absolutely recommend!

Note on bad reviews: I was surprised to see any one-star reviews. In reading them, it looks like they are for macarons that were sold by a secondary seller (i.e., a grocery store), while macarons that customers picked up from Sandrine have good reviews. Notable that the products in the baker's direct care have good reviews, while those kept and sold under conditions she cannot control led to lesser quality goods. I wonder if the time they were left out or conditions under which they were kept led to their unacceptable condition?
