Quality of the famous chocolate sponge cake not the same as before. Was crumbling as you pick up a slice and not as tasty. Had been buying the same from Cafe central for years. Very disappointing as I bought a big quantity.

This cafe has been since 1933 and is one of the most famous cafes in Panjim.

Their snacks (samosas, pattices and many more) and baked items (biscuits, cakes) are very popular.

The staff is so quick to respond, humble and polite.

Everything is just fresh. Please do visit this if you are in Panjim.

This is what I would suggest you taste

1. Veg pattice
2. Eggless chocolate cake
3. Eggless chocolate pastry
4. Veg samosa

Their Mushroom Samosa & Cheese Rissois are also their bestsellers. Couldn't get to taste it since it wasn't ready when I visited the cafe.

This is one of the oldest bakery-cafe set ups in Panjim just opposite the municipal office. Again, this place too operates in two shifts - a morning slot from 9am- 12noon and the evening one from 3-7pm. Their mushroom samosas are to die for is what I was told and they sell like hot cakes in the evenings only - gone within an hour! Thought of trying my luck with getting my hands on them but alas! So I opted for the next best thing - piping hot kande bhajjis (onion pakoras). And boy was I not disappointed one bit!! It was pouring away and my only concern was getting drenched in the rain despite an umbrella and windcheater enroute to the bus stand. But that first bite of the bhajji and all I could focus on was just the yumminess of the experience. So I stood there, munching on my bhajjis and going mmmmm all the time ?
Samosa and bhajjis aside, this is your place for kurkurit (crunchy) chaklis, shakkar-paras, banana chips, jackfruit chips etc and also some awesome tea-cakes.
You can pop into Cafe Aram that's right opposite this cafe for that cuppa chai to go with your samosa or bhajji ?
